Introducing Springs of Hope In Paoli
Paoli, for as long as many of us can remember, we have talked about saving the historic Mineral Springs Hotel. We know how much this building means to our community, and now we have the opportunity to turn those words into action.
We'd like to introduce Springs of Hope in Paoli a new organization currently applying for nonprofit status that has signed a purchase agreement with the current owner. We are scheduled to close on the building this Tuesday.
We have an ambitious, but we believe realistic, plan to raise the funds needed to fully restore and update the Mineral Springs Hotel and help make it the heart of our square and our town once again.
We now have a Facebook page to introduce ourselves to the community, and we will soon be launching a GoFundMe page so everyone can show their support. We are also applying for a READI 2.0 grant, which will match community donations at a 30% rate. We are also pleased to announce that, as of this morning, the Town of Paoli has agreed to meet the matching requirement for the public funding portion of this grant.
Our plan is simple: first stabilize the building, then restore and update it. In the short term, we will apply a temporary roofing solution while planning for a permanent roof designed to last. We also plan to begin masonry restoration and temporary window protection, with full restoration to follow as additional funding becomes available.
We look forward to working with our community, and we plan to host a listening session in May, with the date to be announced soon.
Please note:
Because our 501(c)(3) status is still pending, gifts made at this time are not yet tax deductible. However, donations will become tax deductible once our 501(c)(3) is approved, as long as approval is received within this calendar year.
